Tourism Victoria (Greater Victoria Visitors and Convention Bureau) is a not-for-profit industry association responsible for the development and promotion of tourism in Greater Victoria.
Working closely with Greater Victoria’s tourism industry, Tourism Victoria promotes and develops tourism throughout the area, to ensure the prosperity and continued long-term growth of the $1.2 billion industry. Tourism Victoria markets Greater Victoria as a preferred travel destination to consumers and the travel industry through a variety of joint marketing and promotional campaigns in countries around the world.
Led by a 15-member Board, Tourism Victoria is funded operationally by over 800 Business Members, making up more that 85% of the annual operating budget. The remainder of the operating budget is funded by five area municipalities (Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Sidney and Esquimalt) and Tourism British Columbia. Tourism Victoria’s external marketing activities are funded by a two percent hotel tax.
